This policy explains how Kasa Technology ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use Tooby, our WhatsApp-based assistant that turns your ideas into LinkedIn posts. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect

Account details: your name and WhatsApp number. If you sign in with Google, your Google account email, name and account identifier.
What you send us on WhatsApp: text messages, voice notes, images and screenshots, and links, together with the transcripts, extracted text, summaries and topic tags we create from them.
Content from links you share: the text of public web pages you send us, fetched to summarise them.
Your writing voice: past posts and answers you share to set up your writing style, and the style profile we build from them.
Drafts: the LinkedIn drafts we write for you, every version, and the changes you ask for.
LinkedIn connection (optional): if you connect LinkedIn, your LinkedIn member identifier and an access token that lets us publish posts you approve. The token is stored encrypted.
Usage information: events such as ideas saved, drafts sent, approved and posted, used to run the service and measure whether it helps you.
Cookies: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in to the Tooby app, and short-lived cookies used during sign-in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How we use it

To save and organise your ideas, write drafts in your voice, and send them to you on WhatsApp.
To publish a post to LinkedIn, only after you approve it and ask us to.
To run your account, sign you in, keep the service secure and fix problems.
To understand, in aggregate, how the service is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We never post to LinkedIn without your approval.

3. Who processes your data

We use these service providers to run Tooby. Each processes data only to provide its part of the service:

Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform): delivers messages between you and Tooby.
Google (Gemini API): transcribes voice notes, reads screenshots, summarises and organises ideas, and writes drafts. Google also provides Google sign-in if you use it.
Supabase: stores your account, ideas, drafts and the original voice notes and images.
LinkedIn: publishes posts you approve, if you connect your account.
Inngest and our hosting provider: run our background processing and the website.

Some of these providers may process data outside India. We choose providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards.

4. Other people in your content

Voice notes and screenshots can mention other people. Our drafts do not name or quote other people unless you ask us to, and you decide what is published.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual ideas and drafts at any time, and you can delete your account and all its data in one step from Settings. When you do, we delete your ideas, voice notes, images, drafts, writing profile, messages and LinkedIn connection from our systems. Copies held by WhatsApp on your phone, or posts already published on LinkedIn, are controlled by those services and by you.

6. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access tokens are encrypted at rest, media is stored privately, and access to data is limited to what is needed to run the service.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

ask what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
ask us to correct, complete or update it;
withdraw consent and ask us to erase it, including by deleting your account from Settings;
raise a grievance with us, and if it isn't resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India;
nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.

To use any of these rights, contact our grievance officer below. We acknowledge requests within 7 days and aim to resolve them within 30 days.

8. Children

Tooby is meant for founders and professionals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you on WhatsApp or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
